What would you do in 10 or 20 more years to deal with the global “GLOBALISATION”? by Audrey Lovina Y

             These day, people are talking about globalisation like what is globalisation and what are the effects of it or is it become a problem or not. Globalisation is the world’s evolve especially in technology, economy, even culture, and it is expected to make better world. Right now in 20^th century, actually it’s the era of globalisation because people are evolve more and more each year. They become smarter and also have creative idea to make everything work in more effective way. Simple example is couple of supermarket already use automatic machine to calculate and serve the customer instead of use human resources. It’s happen because they think that machine works better and faster than human, also machine is more lasting than human so the supermarket’s profit will increase because they don’t need to pay their worker’s wage for a long time.

Technology, whether we notice or not, also becomes important part of our daily activities. We can’t get out from using internet and suddenly we addicted to it. Internet makes us discover new world and let us know information from around the world, also it make us realize that the world is just so big. It make us want to know and learn more and more. Internet also bring up people idea to make something new, like online game, new program that many company need, logo and house design, and many more. It looks like internet and technology solve our problem easily, but that thought is actually the problem. Either we realize or not, human become very addicted to machine and suddenly the machine looks like the one who control us. Robot is famous these day and people praise it’s sophistication, also hope that there are many robot who can help us. The robot actually will makes us lazy and lack of knowledge because we relay on the robot and don’t want to search for it by ourselves.

Along with technological development, culture that especially come from Western is being well known and effect culture in many country that become part of ‘developing country’. People start to think that Western culture is more interesting than their own culture so the culture slowly disappear. Many young children especially teenager like to try new thing that wake up their adrenalin so it’s possible for them to get involved in bad things like free sex and drugs. The economy development also cause the rich countries become richer because if the poor countries can’t follow the changes, they will become more suffer.

In the next 10 or 20 years, the world don’t guarantee us to become better than today. Also in the next 10 or 20 years, our generation will become part of people that can make different to the world. And what would I do in the next 10 or 20 years? First, I will prevent myself from the technology development. It doesn’t mean that I don’t want to use technology but just use it enough in daily life. I’m afraid that if I use technology or internet too much, I will be addicted to it and make me lack communicate with people around me because I will pay more attention to the technology, although technology help me a lot.

If I work as an engineer especially for machine or make something that can help people for their lifestyle, I will actually make it because that’s the function of technology, right? But back to the top that I don’t want to be addicted to it and also don’t want the technology control me because I’m the one who make those machine and I have to be the one who control it. I will like to share my opinion of technology with my partners so that they know how to face up with technology.

In the next 10 or 20 years, culture or things that people think are old-fashioned will be forgotten and replace it with culture that they think are cool and new. If I think about it again, that old culture are really a wonderful thing because it contains various believes. If we keep on doing our believes and really know the meaning behind it, we will think it as responsible to keep those believes where ever we go. If we keep those believes, we also remember of our ancestor  and thank them for give such beautiful believes. It doesn’t mean that we have to be old-fashioned and doesn’t want to know about other culture. To keep those believes, I will like to become a person who influence other people or even a public figure. A public figure’s opinion can affect other people so if I boast about old culture and it’s beauty, people all around the world will pay attention. And hopefully those believes and culture will be remembered again. Also, if I have kids at that age, I will make sure they know about culture around the world and also tell them the danger of using technology too much so that they can prevent themselves from any other dangerous things too.

The most important effect of globalisation that I must deal with is economy development because the changes of economy can cause many things including politic. The one who could control economy development are politician and rich people who take part of economic growth. The economic growth actually can’t be predicted because every world have part in it. Now, as I can see, the main cause of economic growth are the rich countries while the other countries are suffer to keep up with rich countries. If I become politician, I will absolutely help poor countries so that every countries in the world have the same growth in economy. I will also make sure in my countries there are no idleness anymore. Hopefully it makes the economic condition equal in every part of the countries and also the poor countries can develop and make rich countries as their role model so that poor countries can become like rich countries too. With the equal economic conditions, my last hope is that there is no more war and problem about money in the next 10 or 20 years and the world can grow together as one.
