What would you do in 10 or 20 more years to deal with the global “GLOBALIZATION”?
Globalization is a phenomenon
that we can not avoid. It rapidly comes along with science which influences
many aspects such as culture, language, social, economy, information and
technology and so on. Globalization has a significant role for Indonesian people
because it helps society to be an interesting effort to achieve welfare.
Therefore, globalization requires high-quality resources and full
competitiveness. Human resources are an important asset of the country. This
rapidly growing globalization era has many challenges and deep influence, so it
means that we must be able to compete in it and follow its development.
In fact, globalization has a big
impact which is the negative and positive effect on people and individual life.
The positive impact of globalization encompasses in various field of life,
namely the economic globalization can be seen from the aspect of creativity
competitiveness with the increasingly open market for export products. The
growth of creativity makes us produce innovative products which are reliable
and good quality domestic products. Whereas in the globalization of education
provides the addition of foreign language of school subjects that help students
learn and understand the language of other countries and can communicate well.
Globalization of education is carried out to meet the needs of a qualified
workforce who is expected to compete in the world market.
Globalization is not only to
have a lot of positive impacts but also negative impacts. For negative impact in
information technology, we can access the internet easily and seeking whatever
we want on it but it is not only a good thing but also bad things. Sometimes
that information contains negative things. If this happens to our teenagers can
lead to being broken morale that they get. With the internet, people obtain the
information which is alleviated but it is sometimes peppered with negative
things. Television shows bad programme like violence and non-educative event.
In addition, globalization creates consumptive behavior as people buy
electronic goods and transportation to fulfill their needs. But they do not
give priority to their functions to people only on fashion. Even more items
purchase will be increasingly viewed by people. Hence, globalization makes
people like to be introvert, narrowminded, waste and love imitating had
behavior.
The internet disclosure for
anyone can cause to change a person’s lifestyle and point of view.
Globalization
leads to people don’t keep the old culture because of entering of the foreign
culture. There are some things that we can do as teenagers in facing of
globalization. Filter good and useful information. Besides, supervision from
all sides is needed so that the information circulating in the society doesn’t
have a negative impact on the youth. People must also try to keep up with the
development of technology. So, we don’t leave behind other countries and is not
easily fooled by information coming in from outside. Reducing consumptive
attitude, everyone should have any awareness of not having glamorous lifestyle
by buying cheap and good quality domestic goods. To decrease globalization can
be done by increasing the domestic products. Promoting local products, the
promotion can improve public knowledge about domestic products and attract
consumer and switch to local products.
In the field of culture, people
must be selective in choosing the culture from outside by taking the culture
that appropriates to local culture. Local culture must be also reappointed by
holding various exhibitions, seminars, cultural competitions, and etc. The
culture that has been passed down from the generations must be preserved to
that no part is left behind. To support this can also be done by keeping
historical places, cultural tourism, nature tourism, and various things related
to regional customs. In the field of education is also not much different.
Education will never escape interrelated components of teachers and students.
The teacher assignments are not limited to teaching activities but the most important
thing is to form students characters. By educating well, a good and critical
character can be formed. This character formation is needed to that student can
respond and filter the influence of globalization appropriately. This can also
be strong with the support of the family and the surrounding environment. These
two components must be stronger in instilling the values and norms in the
society. Supervision must be done that the children won’t easily be influenced
by outsiders.
The Government should actively
get involved organize, regulate, put in order the economy of Indonesia for the
sake of Indonesia society’s welfare. The Government should understand the
society desire namely: Indonesia state should struggle to completely remove
foreign debts and national industrialization. To synergy all natural resources
to obtain the maximum result for the sake of Indonesian society’s welfare. More
active perpetrate international business negotiation to boost better export of
Indonesia to possible increasing economic growth of Indonesia. By doing such
action sincerely the world economic globalization may lead to world society’s
welfare equally. These cannot be implemented if there is no active role of all
state components, both government and society. For this reason, good
cooperation is needed so the result can be maximized.
