“What would you do in 10 or 20 more years to deal with the global “GLOBALISATION”?” by Felicia C. / 14

If someone ask me “What would you do in 10 or 20 more years to deal with the global “GLOBALISATION”?” This is my answer;

I think I will prepare what I do in ten or twenty more years start from now. First, I understood that globalization is a development from the “development” text that I read recently. When a globalization occur, it is mean that the world is changing. Day by day, we must be better and better. We have to follow the change of the world. If we stay safe on our current position, I think we can not survive. Also, we will be left so far behind.

We can see what is happening with Indonesia today. Although globalization has a positive impact for us, but there are some impact which causes us to be bad. If we look far into the past, compare the past with the present, of course, a lot thing has changed. Especially on Indonesian economies. At this time, without realizing it, US Dollar prices continue to increase regulary. Even if our government or our president have tried their best, I think we must keep trying. Trying to survive this change. That’s why we have to change ourselves to be better than before.

Now, what would I do to change myself to be better ? I should learn something. For example, I must learn English. We all know that English is an International language, right? With English, I can build a communication with others. Especially building connections with people from abroad.

            After I graduate from Senior High School, I would to take a Hospitality Management in Petra Christian University. I choose it because I know that Petra has a good quality at their Hospitality Management. I want to learn how to manage a bussiness in Indonesia first. I think if we learn how to manage one thing, automatically I will learn how to manage other things like time.

After graduate from university, I will get my Bachelor’s Degree. Then I will take a study abroad. When I study abroad, I will build a connection with everyone I meet. So I will have lots of connections to exchange my ideas with them. Especially the thoughts of Indonesian with the thoughts of people outside Indonesia who are generally different. Moreover, we know that Indonesia is a developing country and these people maybe come drom developed countries such as Singapore, Japan, The United States of America, Germany, or Canada.

Besides exchanging ideas, I will also learn many things about their social culture there. I can learn to be open minded and there are many more things I can learn from others. Because I know that in our lives, we never stop learning.

When I am studying abroad, I will learn a lot about other countries’ social culture. Also, I can get so much networking, we can be open minded, we can share about our opinion with others. Since usually we have a different opinion compared with other countries’ citizen. When I study abroad, I know that my English skill will getting better because I have to communicate with others use English, even I will learn other languanges like Chinese, Korean, Japanese, etc.

Actually I like study about language because it is fun. Also, we can know how they communicate everyday. Usually in that language we can learn their culture. Actually I wonder if their culture can affect the progress of their country. If Indonesia has a culture like them, can Indonesia also become a developed country like the others? Not a developing country like today.

In the future, I want to change Indonesia to be better. Like I change myself to be better. Since I was born and raised in Indonesia, Indonesia is very instrumental to me. I do not want the country where I was born, and where I grew far behind. If someone else can not change it, then I will change it. At the moment I can only plan how I will study in the future, I still do not know how I will work in the future because I do not know how the situation in the world of work.

Actually I have never thought of everything I wrote above. But when I got the question, I wondered if I could do all that. even though I myself am not sure of myself, but I try harder to face globalization for myself, my family,  my friends, and my country. If I could face globalization and succeed later, I would not forget the services of all those who have educated me.
